Former New York Jets quarterback Tim Tebow, who was released this spring, has signed with the New England Patriots.
Tebow will be joining the Patriots for a mandatory minicamp as quarterback. This move may come as a surprise for some but others speculated that if a team were to sign Tebow, it would likely be the Patriots.
Tebow will rejoin Patriots Offensive Coordinator Josh McDaniels who was the Denver Broncos head coach. McDaniels was the reason Denver traded into the first round to draft Tebow in 2010. McDaniels received a lot of flak from the fans and critics of the media for drafting Tebow, but was redeemed in the 2011 AFC Wild-Card game against the Steelers. In overtime, Tebow threw an 80-yard touchdown pass, defeating the Steelers 29-23. McDaniels will no doubt be looking to capture more of that magic this season with Tebow now as a member of the New England Patriots.
