In what will be called one of the greatest football classics of all time the Baltimore Ravens defeated Peyton Manning and the Denver Broncos in double overtime 38-35. Ravens quarterback Joe Flacco went 18 for 38 with 331 yards and three touchdowns while Denver Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning went 28 for 43 with 290 yards passing, three touchdowns and one interception.
Joe Flacco torched Denver’s secondary defense with Torrey Smith getting three receptions for 98 yards and two touchdowns along with Jacoby Jones getting two receptions for 77 yards and one touchdown. Jones’ touchdown came with 31 seconds left in regulation. Ravens running back Ray Rice made up for two turnovers last week with 30 carries for 131 yards and a touchdown. Bronco’s running back Knowshon Moreno had 10 carries for 32 and two receptions for 21 and a touchdown. Broncos top receivers Eric Decker and Joel Dreessen combined for 130 yards with Demaryius Thomas and Brandon Stokley getting a touchdown. Raven’s kicker Justin Tucker made a 47-yard field goal 1:42 into the second overtime. Braving single-digit temperatures, Ray Lewis led the Ravens defense to victory and the AFC Championship while extending his legendary football career one more week.
