A second-year wide-receiver with loads of potential has already gotten his 2013 season off to a bad start. Josh Gordon of the Cleveland Browns, has been suspended the first two games of the NFL season due to violation of the league’s substance abuse policy. According to Gordon, a doctor diagnosed him with a “sore throat” and prescribed him a medicine which contained codeine. Gordon has responded well to the suspension, apologizing to his team and the fans. With a two game suspension, Gordon still could be a break-out player in 2013.
This not only effects the Browns struggling offense, but changes the outlook on Gordon’s value for fantasy football. Many people have Gordon as a sleeper pick in 2013. With the changes in offensive coordinator and head coaching positions, Gordon was thought to be a a possible top-20 WR. I still think this is possible. Gordon could still impact a fantasy team in a big way after serving the suspension. Gordon could be a player that might win your league. With a late-round draft pick come draft day, he is a solid third WR in most leagues with second WR potential.
