Week 13 of the NFL season has some very favorable match ups for some of the best fantasy players of the year. Start ’em Sit ’em, is a way to show which players to start and which players to leave on your bench to collect dust this week.
START ‘EM – QUARTERBACKS
Cam Newton, Carolina Panthers
My QB to start this week is Cam Newton, quarterback of the Carolina Panthers. This week Cam Newton is going up against arguably the worst defense in the NFL, the New Orleans Saints. In week three of the NFL season, we saw the Panthers take down the Saints behind 315 yards and two touchdownss from quarterback Cam Newton. Hopefully you had Cam on your fantasy team and he led you to a victory with his 29 fantasy points. The Saints defense has been the worst defense in fantasy against quarterbacks giving up an average of 23.2 fantasy points per game. I expect Cam to have a HUGE week against the saints this week.
SIT ‘EM- QUARTERBACKS
Phillip Rivers – San Diego Chargers
My QB to sit this week is Phillip Rivers of the San Diego Chargers. Phillip Rivers is going up against the number one defense in the Denver Broncos. Phillip Rivers has been very unlucky this season losing his number one receiver Keenan Allen, and having his number two receiver Malcom Floyd being banged up all season. Now his safety net, Danny Woodhead is being given less snaps than the rookie Melvin Gordon. Rivers is going up against the defense with Chris Harris, Aqib Talib, and TJ Ward, I would be surprised this week if Rivers gets more than 12 points.
START ‘EM – RUNNING BACKS
Matt Forte – Chicago Bears
My running back to start this week is Matt Forte of the Chicago bears. Yes, yes I know that this is Forte’s second week back and he’s splitting carries with Jeremy Langford, but I believe that Forte will break out in a BIG way this week. Yes the 49ers defense did very well against a good rushing team in the Arizona Cardinals, but the 49ers haven’t done well against the rush all year. Matt Forte didn’t do much against the Packers last week but I expect him to do very well against the 49ers defense who is averaging one, yes I said one fantasy point this year. Get ready for a slaughter on Sunday.
SIT ‘EM – RUNNING BACKS
Thomas Rawls – Seattle Seahawks
My running back to sit this week is Thomas Rawls against the Vikings defense. The Vikings defense has been very good this year only averaging 12 fantasy points against running backs. Yes, Thomas Rawls did get 36 fantasy points two weeks ago and a solid 14 points last week but I don’t think he is going to do well at all this week. This Vikings defense, led by Anthony Barr, is on a roll stopping the high powered offenses of the Packers and the Falcons and I think it is going to continue against the weak offense of the Seattle Seahawks. The Seahawks have just recently gained life on offense, and they found it in Thomas Rawls, but when the Vikings stop him, the Seahawks offense will fall.
