The debate existed before but now with Super Bowl LI in the books and another Super Bowl title for Tom Brady in the books, the debate is gaining momentum. No person of their right mind would question whether or not these two quarterbacks are great but the debate exists in relation to the greatest of all-time. Other names come up like Dan Marino, Peyton Manning or others but the real hot button topic is between the most decorated Super Bowl winning quarterbacks in NFL history.
San Francisco 49er fans will lobby for their guy. New England Patriot fans will back their franchise greatest quarterback. What about the rest of the knowledgeable or casual NFL fans? Who will they back as their choice? Some will point just to the numbers. Others will talk about the different eras, the changes to NFL rules and a litany of other differences to drive their argument.
Here at Sports Unbiased we are not going to sway you one way or another. We have created an endepth comparison for the two players and even listed their regular season, playoff and Super Bowl stats for comparison. Below is a poll for you to vote on. Who is the greatest quarterback of all-time? Weigh in and let your voice be heard.

February 6, 2017 at 11:39 pmLook Montana is a legend and one of the best to ever play.
But the argument for him over Brady is dead and buried and has been for a long time.
Really no argument for him since 2014.
Brady has (a lot) more wins with a better winning percentage.
He has gotten to the playoffs more times at a better rate.
He lead his team to (a lot) more division titles at a much better rate.
Got his team a bye more times.
Montana went 1 and done 4 times while Brady has 2 times in several more chances.
Has (a lot) more playoff wins at a better winning percentage.
Brady is 2-1 in the WC round Montana is 1-2
Brady is 11-2 in the Division round Montana is 7-2
Brady is 7-4 in the Conference Championship Montana is 4-3
Literally the only thing to cling to is Montana winning all 4 of his SBs where Brady is 5-2.
But that argument means you are saying:
– It is better to miss the playoffs than Lose the Super Bowl
– It is better to lose in the WC round than Lose the Super Bowl
– It is better to lose in the Division round than Lose the Super Bowl
– It is better to lose in the Conference Championship than Lose the Super Bowl
– It is better to win less Super Bowls as long as you never Lose the Super Bowl
Sounds fairly stupid right?

February 6, 2017 at 3:52 pmThis is no longer a legitimate debate. Brady has better winning percentages in both the regular season and postseason (by better than 5% in the regular season). Statistically, the only category in which Montana was better is touchdowns per game started in the postseason (1.96 to 1.85). The only argument Montana supports have going for them is that Montana never lost a Super Bowl. However, that argument has always overlooked the fact that Brady has now played in nearly twice as many Super Bowls as Montana. Brady’s Patriots played in ELEVEN conference championship games and went 7-4 in those games. By contrast, Montana’s teams played in eight conference championship games but only went 4-4 in those games. Brady has also maintained his high level of play over 15 years.
