As part of the NFL Weekly In-Depth Analysis series we present the clash between the Baltimore Ravens and the Chicago Bears. This is a 1:00 PM EST game that will be played at Soldier Field as the 5-4 Chicago Bears host the 4-5 Baltimore Ravens. Here are the Vegas odds for the game and what the Sports Unbiased In-Depth Analysis Team believes will occur this Sunday. The writers taking part are: Josh Madas, Chris Pagliuca and John Yeomans.
Vegas Odds (Spread and Over-Under): Chicago minus 3, 46 u
John’s Pick: The Bears are getting shafted by the injury bug with Lance Briggs still out, Cutler hurt again and Charles Tillman done for the year. On the bright side they face a Ravens team that has played repulsive (1-3) on the road, especially with quarterback Joe Flacco (five touchdowns and seven interceptions on the road) continuing his vile play away from Baltimore. Now, the Ravens defense has a knack for getting to the quarterback, which was evident with last week’s five sacks. However, it won’t be as easy this week with the Bears finally playing respectable in the trenches (offensive line ranked third). With this being an away game to go along with Ray Rice still struggling (only 285 rushing yards), I see the Bears picking up the victory and staying on course in the tight NFC North. Bears 17 Ravens 13
Josh’s Pick: Surprisingly, the Bears have look just as good with Josh McCown at quarterback as they do with Jay Cutler. Long term, Chicago would love to have Cutler behind center, but McCown is doing just fine as a week to week starter.
The Ravens have not looked good this year. They throw the ball way too much and have gone away from their hardnosed defensive style. Baltimore almost lost to the Bengals due to a lapse in judgment on the final play of regulation. The Ravens just have not been as crisp as they have in the past and they now find themselves at Chicago for week 11.
The Bears and Ravens both have their own problems right now. However, Chicago has looked great at times this season. If McCown can keep playing like he has, then Chicago should have no problem winning this game. Final Score: Chicago 21 – Baltimore 17
Chris’ Pick: The Ravens didn’t look great in their win last week against the Bengals, but they looked like a team that can win a weak AFC North division. Chicago, on the other hand, has looked good, but with Jay Cutler still not at 100 percent, I can’t see them winning this game. The Ravens’ defense will be key, if they can stop Matt Forte and Brandon Marshall, which is no easy task, they should be able to keep the game relatively low-scoring and come away with a victory. Ravens – 17 Bears – 14
