As part of the NFL Weekly In-Depth Analysis series we present the clash between the Miami Dolphins and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. This is a Monday Night Football game to be played at 8:40 PM EST game at Raymond James Stadium as the 0-8 Tampa Bay Buccaneers host the 4-4 Miami Dolphins. Here are the Vegas odds for the game and what the Sports Unbiased In-Depth Analysis Team believes will occur this Monday. The writers taking part are: Josh Madas, Mike Santangelo and John Yeomans.
Vegas Odds (Spread and Over-Under): Miami minus 2 1/2, 41 u
John’s Pick: All I will say about “The Situation” down in Miami is that the Dolphins will be missing two offensive linemen. However, maybe a breath of fresh air will be good for their trenches (offensive line ranked 32nd). As for Tampa Bay, they came so close last week that they could almost feel the victory, and then it was snatched away. Now with all the problems both teams are having they get to be in the spotlight for Monday Night Football. With the Buccaneers playing slightly better on defense (Tampa Bay ranked 18th in total defense and the Dolphins 23rd) you might think this will be the week they finally win. There is just one problem; the Dolphins have been bashed all week on their team leadership and how the direction of the team is going after “The Situation”. The Dolphins will be ready to prove otherwise Monday night. Miami 21 Tampa Bay 13
Josh’s Pick: This game just screams upset alert. Tampa Bay is coming off a tough loss to Seattle, they are extremely motivated to get their first win, it is on Monday Night Football, and it is being played in Tampa. Not to mention that there are severe locker room issues going on in Miami. This game has been gift wrapped for Schiano. If he cannot pull out a win here, then we might see a new head coach for the Buccaneers next week.
I have been impressed with Miami this year. Tannehill seems to be settling in and they finally have a running game that can open up their receivers for him. When the Dolphins put together an entire game, they have the potential to beat anyone in the league. All of the signs are pointing towards a Buccaneers victory on Monday. As much as I feel that Miami is the better team, I am calling an upset on national television. I am picking Tampa Bay to win. Final Score: Tampa Bay 24 Miami 17
Mike’s Pick: Last we have a semi-dud of a Monday Night Football game. The one really drama here is if Tampa can get off the floor and win a game finally. Even though Miami is not exactly a stellar team, their defense is just good enough to keep them in games long enough for the offense to figure out how to win. On the other side, Tampa’s defense is just good enough to keep them in a game long enough for their offense to figure out how to lose. I don’t think this is the week. It’s probably one of their best chances, at home against an in-state rival who is not very good. But I don’t think it happens for Tampa quite yet. Final Score: Miami 17 Tampa Bay 14
