As part of the NFL Weekly In-Depth Analysis series we present the clash between the Seattle Seahawks and the St Louis Rams. This is a Monday Night Football game to be played at 8:40 PM EST game at the Edward Jones Dome as the 3-4 St Louis Rams host the 6-1 Seattle Seahawks. Can the St Louis Rams survive without Sam Bradford? Can Russell Wilson and Seahawks keep plowing through opponents? Here are the Vegas odds for the game and what the Sports Unbiased In-Depth Analysis Team believes will occur this Monday. The writers taking part are: Mike Santangelo, “Coach” Mike Fabber, John Yeomans, and Chris Pagliuca.
Vegas Odds (Spread and Over-Under): Seattle minus 10 1/2, 42 1/2 u
Mike’s Pick: Zac Stacy may be a revelation for the Rams this year. When they most needed someone to step up at the RB position, he has. He may prove to be their starter for many years to come. Unfortunately for Zac Stacy, this week he has to face the Seahawks defense. They are the tenth best defense against the run, fourth against the pass, third in scoring, and fourth overall. Basically, in every phase of the game they are near the top of the rankings. Meanwhile, the Rams can’t get anything going on offense really, and now they have lost their franchise Quarterback, Sam Bradford, for the rest of the season due to a torn ACL. Kellen Clemens is not going to come in and lead a revelation in offense, especially not against this defense. This one ends up being a laugher. Final Score: Seahawks 37 Rams 10
John’s Pick: Not only did the Rams get their tail handed to them against the Panthers they also lost their quarterback Sam Bradford for the season. Now they have to go up against the Seahawks second ranked defense with backup Kellen Clemens, who has seven touchdowns to his 13 interceptions for his career. Adding in the fact that the Rams defense is ranked 23rd should be enough to tell you this game might get a little ugly. It just goes to show you how fast things can change in the NFL, with the Rams looking promising one week and now looking like all hope is lost just seven days later. Final Score: Seahawks 40 Rams 10
Coach’s Pick: Seahawks are still the team I think will be representing the NFC in the Super bowl. The defense doesn’t only get stops but also scores themselves. The offense is banged up but can still put points up on the board. Percy Harvin is almost back, he might even play this game. That will add a different dimension to this offense and help Wilson and Lynch make plays. This good team will be getting better when it matters most so look out. The Rams are going in the other direction and the loss of Sam Bradford makes it worse. They don’t have the offensive weapons to be too explosive and the defense is on the field too much to be able to keep teams from scoring. The Rams have a tough road ahead of them and this is not the way you want to start it. The Seahawks will win this game. Final Score: Seahawks 31 Rams 10
