As part of the NFL Weekly In-Depth Analysis series we present the clash between the Cleveland Browns and the Kansas City Chiefs. This is a 1:00 PM EST game that will be played at Arrowhead Stadium as the 7-0 Kansas City Chiefs host the 3-4 Cleveland Browns. Can the Browns rebound and keep their playoffs hopes alive? Can Andy Reid and the Chiefs remain the only undefeated team in the NFL? Here are the Vegas odds for the game and what the Sports Unbiased In-Depth Analysis Team believes will occur this Sunday. The writers taking part are: Mike Santangelo, “Coach” Mike Fabber, John Yeomans, and Chris Pagliuca.
Vegas Odds (Spread and Over-under): Kansas City minus 7 1/2, 39 1/2 u
Mike’s Pick: The Browns boast one of the best young defenses in the league, with one of the best young Cornerbacks in Joe Haden. That defense, and some inspired play by backup quarterbacks before Weeden got the job back, has kept the Browns in the running in a very tough AFC North. The Browns also have one of the best young TE’s in the game with Jordan Cameron. As I said before though, Brandon Weeden is their Quarterback now. With him back there, there just isn’t enough passing threat to really force a defense to worry about being beat over the top. Defenses just keep everything in front of them and take advantage of the mistakes. Meanwhile, Kansas City has an overwhelming defense coupled with a fantastic offense. Basically they are a complete team, and perhaps the best team in the NFL right now. At home in Arrowhead, with a sea of red surrounding them, this team will not lose to the Browns this week, no matter how improved they are. Final Score: Chiefs 31 Browns 17
John’s Pick: Jason Campbell is probably not jumping for joy after being announced the starter against the Chiefs, who have one of the most tenacious defenses (ranked fifth in total defense) in the league. This game should be a low scoring contest with both defense ranked in the top ten, however the Browns will have a tough task trying to stop running back Jamal Charles who has been a touchdown machine (eight touchdowns in seven games). I would be shocked if the Chiefs don’t end up 8-0 after this game especially playing in at home in the very loud Arrowhead Stadium. Final Score: Chiefs 16 Browns 3
Coach’s Pick: Two team going in opposite directions best sums up this matchup. The Browns are in such bad shape that they are starting another quarterback, Jason Campbell. They just cannot keep a good thing going in Cleveland, Lebron leaves, Hoyer gets hurt, and they ship out Richardson but yet we wonder why they are so bad!!! The Chiefs are solid on both sides of the ball. The defense has yet to yield more than 17 points in a game yet. The offense has the best running back in the game in Jamal Charles and a steady QB in Alex Smith. Andy Reid is a coach of the year candidate and this team is firing on all cylinders. Final Score: Chiefs 20 Browns 13
