As part of the NFL Weekly In-Depth Analysis series we present the clash between the Washington Redskins and Dallas Cowboys. This is a 8:30 PM EST game that will be played at AT&T Stadium as the 2-3 Dallas Cowboys host the 1-3 Washington Redskins. Can Tony Romo, Demarco Murray and the rest of the Cowboys offense continue to score points by the truckload? Can RGIII and the Redskins get their season on track? Here are the Vegas odds for the game and what the Sports Unbiased In-Depth Analysis Team believes will occur this Sunday. This week John Yeomans, “Coach” Mike Fabber and Mike Santangelo provide commentary on the game.
Vegas Odds: Dallas minus 5 1/2, 52 1/2 u
Mike’s Pick: Coming off of a huge game against Denver, the Cowboys will be looking for a little redemption. Even with the amazing offensive game that the Dallas offense had last week, they still lost. This week they will want to imitate that performance without imitating the result. The Redskins are coming off of their bye week, and have been pretty horrible on both sides of the ball so far this year. When two bad teams meet, it comes down to the little things to real determine who wins. This week I think those little things fall in favor of the Redskins. A week off to get healthy, adjust the game plan, figure out some things related to their line play, and figure out how best to use RG3 will serve the Redskins well. Normally a bye week this early might be looked on as a bad thing, in this case I think it’s a blessing for the ‘Skins Final Score: Redskins 27 Cowboys 21
Redskins vs. Cowboys: Tony Romo has once again been dogged all week after throwing another key interception that ultimately led a Cowboys loss. Still, let’s give Romo the benefit of the doubt; he is the only quarterback so far this year that has kept up the pace with Peyton Manning and his juggernaut of an offense. Overall Romo has been off to a great start as he and Dez Bryant have formed a great chemistry with them already connecting on six touchdowns. Also, Romo should bounce back from last week’s crucial turn over, especially against Washington who has played downright awful on defense (32nd total defense in the league). While everybody seems to be pointing out that RG3 is not playing the same since his knee injury, at least he’s playing well enough to lead his offense to a ranking of eighth while averaging 22.8 points a game. Nevertheless, with no help on defense the team has started out 1-4. Washington has had a week to regroup and is hoping to jump start their season against a Dallas team that they beat twice last season. Dallas is most definitely improved in stopping the run (ranked fourth) but is sitting dead last in stopping the pass. With both defenses having trouble stopping the ball in the air expect another shootout in the big D this Sunday. This time though there will be no fourth quarter hiccups by Romo, as he exacts revenge for his crucial interception that ended the Cowboys 2012 season Final Score: Cowboys 38 Redskins 33
Coach’s Pick: The worst division in the NFL will have two of their teams square off this weekend. The Redskins come in off a bye week to play the broken hearted Cowboys who almost pulled off a great upset. The Cowboys will show us what they are made out of this week when we see how they bounce back from that tough loss. Will Tony Romo get back in track after throwing a costly interception or will it keep him derailed. The Redskins had two weeks to prepare for this common foe and should be well rested for this matchup. These two teams do not like each other and I doubt they will after this one. A lot rides on the outcome of this week 6 game. Should be a great game to watch but we saw what Romo did to the Denver secondary and they are better than the Redskins, Dallas wins 27- 24 getting the Cowboys to 3 and 3 Final Score: Cowboys 27 Redskins 24
