Its time to draft your fantasy team all over again! Last year at this time, all the so called “experts” were talking about how drafting an elite QB early was the smart thing to do. Well they were wrong, as 4 new QBs broke out and made the QB position very deep. This year, my advice to everyone, WAIT on a QB. In a standard 12-man league, the position is incredibly deep. You can often land Matt Ryan or Mathew Stafford past the 5th or 6th rounds! While you wait on a QB, stack your team with RBs, and WRs.
RB: The top 10 RBs are all set to produce consistently, but beyond that, there are a lot of question marks. How well will Steven Jackson transition to a new team? How many carries will Matt Forte get under his new coach? The answers to these questions will determine whether these players consistently break the top 10 or if they will be busts. The farther you go down the RB rankings the more questions you have about each back.
WR: There are 7 WRs set to produce elite numbers this season. In no particular order, A.J. Green, Demaryius Thomas, Julio Jones, Calvin Johnson, Larry Fitzgerald, Dez Bryant, and Brandon Marshall. All of these receivers are in line to have huge years. Having one of these players on your fantasy team is a big part of building a successful team. After these top-tier WRs, there is a ton of depth. All of the WRs available from the 4th-7th rounds are all capable of putting up huge numbers, or none at all.
TE: The TE position is incredibly top-heavy this year. Jimmy Graham and a healthy Gronkowski score a significant amount more than all other Tight Ends. After them, Vernon Davis,Tony Gonzales and Jason Witten should all have solid years. However, the rest of the Tight ends, are very unpredictable and unreliable.
My recommendation is to either take one of these 5 TE’s or wait until the 7th or 8th rounds to draft anyone else.
