This has to go down as a top 50 NBA moment. Scenario – a must win against a crosstown rival and largely rooted against San Antonio team that was favorite to win the West before winning the title in 2005. Houston, 2004, down 10 with 56 seconds to go. The game is seemingly over, or so fans thought. After a missed layup, a Yao Ming put-back, and a steal-score from Bobby Sura, one of the greatest comebacks and shooting performances in NBA history is in the process of being executed.
Tracy McGrady is one of my favorite players, and has been since his Toronto days. His fearlessness and shooting abilities have always been a nightmare for opposing defenses, which is what I admired most about his game. This is a legendary NBA moment to me because it still gets me fired up the same way after first witnessing it nine years ago.
Overall this is one of my top moments in shooter’s history; and against a *dynasty* no less. The absolute fury and frustration between Gregg Popovich and his players makes this romp that much more better to enjoy. I think we see the last of Devin Brown and a few other players after this 2003-2004 season, which is full of legendary moments.
