GFR Analysis
Ben Buchanan – Gortat is a consistent player. You know what you’re getting from him, he’ll give you a consistent 13/9. Gortat isn’t quite a “go-to” player, but he’s very solid; he’s got a decent post game and can score. He’s also a very good rebounder, and a defensive presence. Overall Gortat is a very solid player, the type of guy you want on your team.
Jr. Williams – I used to think Gortat was on his way to becoming a top-12 center in the NBA, but after watching him during the 2015 playoffs versus the Atlanta Hawks I realized how limited he really was offensively and defensively against Paul Millsap and Al Horford. That being said, Gortat is an overall solid player who surely stands out in the Eastern Conference. Gortat isn’t the greatest free-throw shooter, however, he’ll give you 110 percent on both ends of the floor night in and night out. Talentwise I believe he has reached his ceiling, and don’t be surprised if he drops to a No.20 rating among all centers this season.
Summary
Marcin Gortat ratings suggest he's an elite defender and ball protector but will his elite status holdup for throughout the regular season? Gut Feeling Rating Score (GFR) = 7.14 - Elite Center.
