Sports Unbiased Staff G.F.R. Analysis
Ben Buchanan – Harris is one of the most underrated SFs in the league. He has improved tons over his 5 year career with Milwaukee and Orlando. Harris averaged a career high 17.1 PPG last season, he also posted career highs in assists, blocks and steals. Harris finally got rewarded for his improving play this off-season when he signed a 4 year max contract with the Magic.
Another aspect of Harris’ game that has improved dramatically is his 3-point shooting. His career average of 27 percent increased last season after he averaged 36.5 percent, showing he has the necessary range. Harris is part of the young core in Orlando, and at 23 he fits right in with Elfrid Payton, Victor Oladipo, Mario Hezonja, Aaron Gordon, and Nikola Vucevic.
Sauping R. Arguello – Harris numbers may be slightly skewed in Orlando as they have had little to play for as of late. Harris has the potential to move up this list in seasons to come.
Keith Rivas – Despite the Magic being absolute garbage at the moment, young Tobias Harris stands out as the guy that might be able to turns things around at just the right time.
Harris has gone from averaging five points per game during his small two-year stint in Milwaukee to almost 20 points to his credit for Orlando.
All he needs is the right team around him and everyone will start to recognize this kind for the talent he’s becoming at the top level of basketball.
Jr. Williams – I think Harris is an excellent addition to the Orlando Magic team. At 235 lbs, he has size and can score well for a player built like a diesel truck. Harris is a great rebounder, he shoots extremely well from the field (.463), and even shot a respectable 3-point percentage last season (.364). I’d like to see him get up to around the 18-20 fga range this season, and he should certainly have an opportunity to do so in Orlando.
