(Cleveland Cavaliers)
In game 5 the Cavaliers attempted to match wits with the Warriors lineup as they exchanged size for quickness. The adjustment kept the the game close for the first two quarters, unfortunately, the Cavaliers ran away with the game in the second half as the Warriors struggled offensively from behind the arc. Klay Thompson lead his team in scoring with 37 points but it was Kyrie Irving and LeBron James who stole the show after both players tallied a whopping 41 points each.
LeBron James bounced back from the scuffle with Draymond Green in game 4 by racking up a double-double (41 points, 16 rebs, and 7 assists) as the Cavs took full advantage of a Warriors team that lost both Andrew Bogut (injury) and Draymond Green (suspension).
With a 3-2 deficit, the Cavs live to fight another day, and will head back home with a chance to extend the series. Is this series over? Will the Warriors seal the deal with a game 6 victory? Team S.U. recaps game 5 and provides their Cavaliers vs. Warriors Game 6 Predictions.
Cavaliers vs. Warriors Game 6 Predictions: NBA Finals
K. Rivas – Klay Thompson showed up in ways I never would’ve imagined for someone in his shoes. A young player still getting into a scary rhythm on basketball’s biggest stage is making the Cleveland defense look incapable of stopping his outside shooting.
LeBron and Kyrie owned from an offensive standpoint and that’s what essentially sealed Cleveland’s fate, as the Cavs now face a must-win home stand in Game 6.
But trust me when I say that the Warriors are coming.
Again, as told before in my earlier predictions, I’m still feeling that this series will come down to a seventh game. There’s no way that one of the best players in the league is going to go down without a fight, especially in his hometown.
Cavaliers vs. Warriors Game 6 Predictions – Heck, the Warriors should know that better than anyone. But don’t expect the Warriors to hand it to Cleveland, even if it looks like the Cavs take control early on or down the stretch.
Why? Because Steph Curry would love nothing more than to cook up a road upset en route to his first of what will probably be a handful of NBA titles in his coming career. Oh yes, the party’s just getting starting. Game 6 Prediction, Cavs 107, Warriors 101
S. Turner – The Golden State Warriors are one win away from being the back-to-back NBA Champions. The Warriors really seemed to have round their rhythm in the first 2 games. League MVP, Stephen Curry, had an respectable game 5, but it was Thompson who was lighting Cleveland up from downtown and ended with 37 points at the end of the game.
LeBron James had another legendary performance which helped the Cavs get the win. Cleveland’s role players just didn’t exactly have to show up in game 5, while Golden State’s deep bench struggled. Harrison Barnes offered only 5 points while Andre Iguodala contributed 15 points.
Cavaliers vs. Warriors Game 6 Predictions – I think this series is going to be over in game 6. The Warriors have returned to the fearsome team they were the whole season and Cleveland is too banged up to defeat them. LeBron James is the best player in the world but I don’t believe it will be enough to beat the team that was the best in a brutal 2015 Western Conference. I’m taking GSW in game 6, 108-94
Jr. Williams (NBA Editor) – Its kinda difficult for a team to win when they rely so heavily on a single player to carry the entire offense (LeBron James). The only players other than James that deserve any credit over the last two games are Tristan Thomas and Kyrie Irving. J.R. Smith and Kevin Love have been the most inconsistent players in this series, they have one final chance to extend the series otherwise they will have plenty of time to reflect on their shortcomings in the off-season.
Cavaliers vs. Warriors Game 6 Predictions – I’m counting on the Cavs core of LeBron James, Tristan Thomas, and Kyrie Irving to get the job done in game 6. The Cavs have to push the tempo and limit the Warriors offensively to scoring under 100 points. Draymond Green should be back, which should make Game 6 very interesting. Defensive stops will be the key to this game, but I’m taking the Cavs FTW, final score 98-94.
