(Milwaukee Bucks)
Under the impressive direction of head coach Jason Kidd, the Milwaukee Bucks are giving the Chicago Bulls every inch of resistance as they try everything to avoid an early playoffs exit. The Bulls have protected home court thus far, but will be heading into BMO Harris Bradley Arena where the Bucks were 23-18 during the regular season–not bad odds in favor of the Bulls. Can the Bucks extend the series or will they find themselves fighting an impossible comeback? Team S.U. predicts the future.
2015 NBA Playoffs: Bulls vs Bucks- Round 1 Series Predictions
Jeb Taylor (NBA Contributor): With the Bulls finally having a semi-healthy line-up, they will be a force to be reckoned with. Milwaukee’s elite defense could interfere with Chicago, though, as their starting line-up has only played a fraction of games together.
Prediction: The Bulls come out rusty, but eventually take it 4-2
Steve Turner (NBA Writer): The Chicago Bulls and Milwaukee Bucks series is going to be an interesting Eastern Conference showdown. Bucks head coach Jason Kidd managed to take this team from the worst team to the 6th seed in the playoffs, which is pretty impressive. I think this Bucks team is going to give Chicago a run for their money.
With Derrick Rose in and out with his injuries all season, most basketball fans are curious and ready to see what he’s going to look like in the playoffs. This Bulls team is really solid. Pau Gasol has had the best season of his career and so has Jimmy Butler. They’re going to be huge contributing factors to the Bulls postseason success. Pau brings a lot to the table for Chicago, he has a lot of playoff experience, not to mention some finals experience as well.
Also, you can’t forget about the rookie, Nikola Mirotić. Mirotić has really made a name for himself this season and he’s looking to continue his good work in the playoffs.
Prediction: This Bucks team is going to make it interesting, but I’m taking the Bulls in 6
Sauping R. Arguello (NBA Contributor): The Chicago Bulls are feeling confident now that their injuries seem to be a thing of their past, hopefully. Derrick Rose, Jimmy Butler, and Taj Gibson are all back and ready to help the Bulls make a run at the title. The main thing that can affect this team is the durability of Rose. Can he be injury free the entire playoffs and be just 70 percent of the MVP of 2011?
The Milwaukee Bucks and head coach Jason Kidd have been the overachievers of the 2015 season. No one expected them to finish in the six seed much less make the playoffs. Even after losing rookie phenom Jabari Parker for the season, the Bucks have been able to remain respectable and maintain the six spot. The Bulls will be too much and too deep for a young and upcoming Milwaukee team. This series will be good for Chicago to get their rotation, health and cohesiveness together for the next round.
Prediction: Da Bulls in 5 (4-1)
Jr. Williams (NBA Editor): The Bulls are heavily favored to win this series, however, don’t be surprised if the Bucks extend this matchup to a six or seven game series as Chicago tries to readjust to having a healthy Derrick Rose in the lineup. While I don’t expect heavy minutes from Rose, I do expect a lot of offense flowing through Pau Gasol, as this Bucks team is lacking a defensive presence in the middle. The Bucks will have to double-team Gasol in order to minimize his effectiveness.
This Bucks team is young but they are as tough as a box of nails– they defend well, move the ball efficiently, and are actually a better defensive team than people give them credit for. Again this is a scary team, and the Bulls will definitely have issues keeping them at bay.
Prediction: Bulls in 7 (4-3)
