With the upcoming announcements from the Baseball Writers Association of America (BBWAA) and the Internet Baseball Writers Association of America (IBWAA), we felt it right to release two ballots of members that currently or in the past, call Sports Unbiased home. Those two writers are Rich Stowe and Adam Solowiei. Sports Unbiased feels that letting the public know who we voted for and why we voted for them is key to helping the avid baseball fan understand what happened. In fact, Rich had predicted what will happen with this years vote made by the BBWAA months ago. You can read that by clicking Baseball Hall of Fame Predictions 2015.
The votes and explanations below do not reflect those of all IBWAA or BBWAA members but will provide some insight into the process. Besides, Rich and I feel that we have no issue explaining the process. Others would rather vote in secrecy. That is their right but for us, we lay it out there. Below is the full ballot and which players we both voted for. You will see that we are on the same page. Before you ask, that is not normal for us so we must be on to something here.
IBWAA Ballot and Voting Results
Note: Craig Biggio was inducted by the IBWAA in 2014.
Note: Mike Piazza was inducted by the IBWAA in 2013.
Note: Barry Larkin is on the ballot due to his inability to receive the proper percentage of IBWAA votes in the last Hall of Fame voting cycle.
