This past off-season, Marmol signed a one year deal with the Marlins at a very Marlin friendly price. Marmol pitched 13 1/3 innings before being released by the Marlins allowing a total of 12 runs. He did strikeout 14 in that timeframe but his control, which has been an issue, was still a problem that forced the Marlins to move on from the former Chicago Cubs closer. Whether the Reds pitching coaches can fix his command issues remains to be seen but from a gamble perspective it might be worth it.
