Manchester United has confirmed that David Moyes is no longer the manager of the club.
“The club would like to place on record its thanks for the hard work, honesty and integrity he brought to the role”.
The news comes just two days following a 2-0 lost at Everton, a defeat which eliminated United from a top four finish and Champions League qualification.
Moyes was appointed just last summer to succeed Sir Alex Ferguson, who retired after 26 years as United manager. The club won 13 Premier League and two UEFA Champions League titles under Ferguson. It was also Ferguson, who recommended Moyes as his successor.
Manchester United has named Ryan Giggs as interim manager until the end of the season.
