Manchester United will face holders Bayern Munich in the Champions League quarterfinals.
United have struggled all season under David Moyes. They are currently seventh in the Premier League and had to overcome a 2-0 first leg deficit to win their round of 16 tie against Greek side Olympiacos. Now they face Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich, regarded as the best club in the world and favorites to repeat as European champions.
Fellow Premier League side Chelsea will face Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint-Germain.
Barcelona will face fellow La Liga contenders Atletico Madrid. This guarantees that at least one Spanish club will be in the semifinals. The third Spanish club, Real Madrid, will face Borussia Dortmund. Dortmund defeated Real in the semifinals of last year’s competition.
The quarterfinal first legs will be played on April 1-2 with the return legs one week later. The finals will be held on May 24 at Estadio da Luz in Lisbon.
