Rafael Nadal took care of his long-time rival Roger Federer 7-6(4), 6-3, 6-3 to reach the final of the Australian Open.
He will meet another Swiss, eighth-seeded Stan Wawrinka, who defeated Tomas Berdych in four sets yesterday.
Nadal continued his domination over Federer. He was won the last five matches between the two players and owns a 23-10 overall record against Federer.
Federer had no answer for Nadal’s top spin – heavy lefty forehand to his one-handed backhand – which has been the case in the majority of their matches.
It’s back to the drawing board for the Swiss, though he should be encouraged by the way he played Down Under.
