In a secret not very well kept the Houston Texans, owners of the number one pick in next year’s NFL draft, are not against the idea of trading the top pick. When you earn (a very lose choice of words) the number one pick there is more than one issue that needs resolution. In fact the Texans will be looking to replace incumbent quarterback Matt Shaub and have concluded they probably do not have an internal answer. With a decent crop of quarterbacks and Clowney still fighting to go one over all there should be teams willing to take the pick off the Texans hands. What stops you from keeping information like this close hold? When the owner speaks out. Here is what Texans owner Bob McNair had to say:
“Maybe we’ll trade down and still get a quarterback that can do the job and get an outstanding defensive player”
