According to Mark Feinsand of the New York Daily News, free Agent Shin-Soo Choo is looking for a large deal in the neighborhood of seven years and $140 million. With the Diamondbacks and Tigers out of the apparent hunt for Choo after the trade for Mark Trumbo and signing of Rajai Davis respectively that still leave a number of prospective suitors for Choo. Jerry Crasnick of ESPN.com listed nine teams as options for Choo. However, I just cannot see the Red Sox, Yankees or even Detroit making a huge push for Choo. I would not be shocked to see either the newley large wallet Seattle Mariners (if they cannot pull off a trade for Matt Kemp) or the Cincinatti Reds (assuming they move Brandon Phillips- The Yankees should be calling soon) as the front runners and eventual home for Choo.
I have heard the same. RT @BNightengale One GM says he was told in talks that Shin-Soo Choo would cost $140 million over 7 years.
