Toronto Blue Jays
The Toronto Blue Jays appeared to finally be playing the way many experts predicted the second half of 2014. However, this off-season they have parted ways with Melky Cabrerra, Adam Lind and Brett Lawrie via free agency or trade. But the additions of Russell Martin as a backstop and Josh Donaldson at the hot corner will make them better than before.
The rotation in Toronto was okay in 2014 but nothing to shake a stick at. They were middle of the road in ERA (4.00) and WHIP (1.31) but that is good enough with the offense they have north of the border. Also, all things considered, Russell Martin is great with team rotations and that alone will help this unit play better in 2015.
The offense in Toronto was formidable before but now you add Josh Donaldson (and his range) and Russelll Martin to a lineup that already boasted Jose Bautista, Jose Reyes, and Edwin Encarnacion. This team can supplant the Orioles as the AL home run leaders and they will be a top-5 offense overall. In an AL East that is arguably weaker than it has been in a while, the Blue Jays should be able to end the season on top.
Predicted Finish: 88 – 74 (Division Winner)
