I predict John Cena will lose his WWE title at WWE Payback.
Ok, now that you read that sentence feel free to voice your frustrations that the CeNation leader’s reign won’t last forever. In all truth I would want Cena’s reign to last longer due to the immense buildup he received going into WrestleMania 29. Unfortunately it’s time to pass the torch to the man that deserves the title gold.
Ryback has been screwed out of the title three separate times. Most notably at Hell in a Cell where he held a tired and defeated Punk on his shoulders setting up for the ‘Shell Shock” before receiving a low blow by Brad Maddox costing him the match.
Ryback was given a second chance at Survivor Series where he laid Cena out cold in the middle of the ring ready to finally achieve his dreams of title gold. Fate however had other plans as three NXT rookie upstarts would interfere, putting Ryback through the announcer table for the disqualification.
He was even awarded a third chance on the first Raw of 2013 in a ladder match where he was again attacked by The Shield who threw him through another table and allowing CM Punk to win the match to retain his title gold.

The WWE needs to give Ryback a chance to hold the title. The man has better microphone skills then many of the wannabe-heels running around the WWE like Curtis Axel and Heath Slater. The man does excellent promos and even backs it up with his in ring performance.
Ryback is a heel worth cheering for. His daring tactics of arriving in an ambulance before every match and dismantling opponents the way he does are some of the best moments of the night. If you look at Ryback as a heel versus Curtis Axel and The Shield, you not only see better microphone work but a much better gimmick.
As for the match this Sunday, I see John Cena taking the Lumberjack match after he lands a surprise “Attitude Adjustment” on Ryback. The second fall will most likely be awarded to Ryback after he “Shell Shocks” the CeNation leader through a table. The ambulance match is where things will get interesting. Both superstars will start out trying to wear each other down before exchanging punishing finishers.
Cena and Ryback will then become frustrated and start to resort to dirtier tactics to win the match. Ryback will take control late in the ambulance match hitting him with another “Shell Shock” for good measure before dragging Cena up the ramp to the ambulance. That’s obviously the point where Cena will mount his comeback landing punches on Ryback and gaining momentum in his favor. The fans will cheer as Cena nails a “Five Knuckle Shuffle” on the stage and set up for an “Attitude Adjustment” in hopes of ending the match. Ryback will reverse it into a Spear onto the ambulance. The fans will look on in anticipation as Ryback emerges from the ambulance to win the title.
Ryback needs to be champion to make the WWE interesting again. Long reigns are fine in wrestling, but not if the personality doesn’t sell with a majority of its audience. Although Cena is one of the best WWE superstars in the last decade, having him continue his reign as champion would only make wrestling more predictable then what it already is.
