Keys to the Game:
Philadelphia: Chip Kelly’s offense is currently last in time of possession and we all know why. Kelly is an offensive minded coach who wants to have the fastest offense in the league. However, this week they are facing an offense that could potentially set record numbers this year. Kelly will need to control the clock from the start of the game to ensure Peyton Manning doesn’t have another seven touchdown game.
Denver: We all know the offense will be fine, however, Denver’s defense will need to bring the pressure on Michael Vick. Vick is a very good pocket passer and as we saw last week he still has the speed and the ability to pull it down and run. Denver needs to bring pressure from different angles to keep Vick guessing.
What to Watch for:
Philadelphia: It will be interesting to see how the Philly defense tries to slow down the Denver offense. Denver is currently #1 in passing and #14 in rushing. Philadelphia’s defense hasn’t been the best throughout the first three games and now they are facing their toughest challenge of the year. They need to mix up their defensive looks and bring pressure to move Manning around in the pocket.Look for Philadelphia to move Manning outside the pocket because as many people know a true pocket passer isn’t good when moving around.
Denver: In the last three games Denver has been unstoppable on offense. No defense has been able to find an answer for Peyton Manning and his star studded wide receiver corp. One of reasons is that Denver has two different offenses. In the first half, Denver shows a spread offense with wide receivers all over. In the second half Denver comes out with bunch formations with tights ends and different running back formations. Watch for Denver to continue this two look offense to throw the defense off in the second half.
My prediction for this game is that Denver wins again. It’s difficult to envision Philadelphia walking away from this one with a “W” but crazier things have happened. The Denver offense is just to much for the Philly defense, unless something crazy happens, Denver should walk away 4-0. Denver 31 Philadelphia 20
