Joe Flacco and the Baltimore Ravens have agreed to a six-year contract worth a record $120 million which was initially reported by ESPN Adam Schefter and according to USA Today, $52 million is guaranteed. This new contract will make Flacco the highest paid player in NFL history. The Ravens general manager Ozzie Newsome and Flacco’s sports agent Joe Linta are working on the details of the contract for the potential Monday signing. This will put Flacco above New Orleans Saint Quarterback Drew Brees who is currently averaging $20 million a year. Flacco who is coming off of his final year of his rookie contract this past season...

Lakers owner Dr. Jerry Buss has died of cancer at the age of 80. He had been hospitalized and has not been seen with the Lakers at all this season. Dr. Buss has also kept a low profile since his declining health in the last two years. Buss, who received a doctorate in physical chemistry from the University of Southern California, moved to Los Angeles and became a real-estate investor. His biggest purchase by far was buying the Lakers in 1979 from Jack Kent Cooke for $67.5 million. Woodson had two years and $20 million left on his contract with the Packers. Woodson was to receive $2.5 million on the first day of training camp. An announcement was made Thursday by Washington Redskins officials that their star rookie quarterback Robert Griffin III would be ready by the start of week one for the 2013 season. Griffin underwent reconstructive knee surgery just last month in Pensacola, Florida and has now returned to Washington, D.C.  The Redskins organization has been more than excited to see RG3 and immediately put out an announcement that RG3 would be ready for action game one of the 2013 season. To many outside the organization, the news of RG3’s timely return seems to be sort of a premature announcement by Redskins officials. There are still a lot of...

This was a Super Bowl to remember, this was a game that will go into the football collection of Super Bowl films that we see every year during the lead up to the big game. Maybe you have seen some of those old nostalgic football films of guys with helmet print afros, long hair with bangs and pork chop side burns on the sideline with sweat pouring off of their faces and water being poured on their heads. These men have dirt, grass, stick’em and tape all over them displaying the desire and tools necessary to win. These football titans are trying to overcome all odds to taste victory in extreme harsh football conditions such as the Ice...

Coach Bill Parcells, Chris Carter, Larry Allen, Jonathan Ogden and Warren Sapp were elected to the Pro Football Hall of Fame on Saturday.  There were also several players who did not make the selection this year:  Aeneas Williams, Andre Reed, Charles Haley, Jerome Bettis, and Michael Strahan. The selection committee also eliminated Tim Brown, Kevin Greene, Will Shields and former owners Edward DeBartolo Jr. and Art Modell.   Since the Ravens have punched a ticket to Super Bowl XLVII in New Orleans against the San Francisco 49ers there has been an attempt to discredit Ray Lewis, one of the most revered players in the NFL and Ravens organization. Ray Lewis is the Ravens linebacker and leader of the Ravens defense and team.  It’s been a long and winding road for Lewis getting to this point. He was part of an incident on Jan 31, 2000 in Atlanta that left a man dead. The two counts of murder charges against him were dropped and he pled guilty to obstruction of justice. Since then, Ray Lewis has proved to be the ideal player on and off the field...
