Fantasy football season is right around the corner and it is never too soon to gather as much valuable data as possible.  Each person, stat or edge that you can find will go a long way in determining who you should draft and how to structure you team in hopes of winning your local, regional, or national leagues. Below is my breakdown of who I believe will be the top fantasy quarterbacks for the 2016 season. The kickers receive five points for each field goal over 50 yards, four points for each field goal over 40 yards, three points for all field goals 39 yards or less, one point for each made extra point and two points for each two point...

It is never too early to look at players in historical context or predict what is next. But what if we took both and mixed them in a blender? That possibility could be ranking the top quarterbacks in the NFL for 2016/2017 or any other year, ranking the top quarterbacks in the NFL is destined for feedback when each fan base backs “their boy.” There is nothing wrong with that and heck, we all do it. That debate is part of the fun, heartbreak and emotional overload that comes with the teams we all love. Without any pause let the debate begin. Let’s take a look at the Ranking Top-10 Quarterbacks in the NFL for 2016/2017 Season to...

The final major championship of the season is upon us and things are a bit out of whack thanks to the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio. The schedule condensed and moved up the season’s final major, the PGA Championship. Jason Day broke his major championship curse at the PGA Championship last year and has been rolling ever since. On an aside, Baltusrol is only one of four golf locations in the United States to be honored as a National Landmark The 72-hole record at the PGA Championship belongs to David Toms who shot 265 in 2001. 13 players have fired a 63 in the events history. Of course, this is all a moot point this week since the PGA...

The third major championship of the season is upon us and everyone better be prepared for some good old links golf. The 145th edition of the Open Championship will be held in Ayrshire, Scotland at Royal Troon. Many refer to the Open Championship as the British Open but the true and accurate name is the Open Championship. Royal Troon has hosted the Open Championship on eight different occasions. Until this year, it had been since 2004 that the historic landmark hosted the season’s third major. The course has not lacked for drama or memorable moments over the years and this year it will be no different. The challenges that await the...

It is hard to believe we are at the 2016 Bridgestone Invitational and not even approached The Open Championship but such are the Olympics and the changes to support them. The tour roles on no matter what and Firestone, more specifically the South course, are front and center again for some riveting golf form some of the finest golfers in the world. The 72-hole record at the Bridgestone Invitational belongs to Tiger Woods who shot 259 in 2000. Three players are tied for the 18-hole record of 61. Those include Jose Maria Olazabal, Sergio Garcia and Tiger Woods twice. But who will win the 2016 edition of the WGC Bridgestone Invitational?...

The second major of the 2016 PGA Tour season is upon us as the USGA brings back a personal favorite in Oakmont CC. Oakmont has been the host to eight previous United States Open’s including 1927, 1935, 1953, 1962, 1973, 1983, 1994, and 2007. Oakmont is almost the first golf course in the United States to be listed as a National Historic Landmark. This year’s edition marks the 116th time the United States Open has been conducted. The last time the US Open was held at Oakmont in 2007, no player was under par as Angel Cabrera won with a five-over score. In fact, in all eight times that Oakmont has hosted the US Open, only 23 total...

The first two legs of the Triple Crown Series are behind us and we are on to the 2016 Belmont Stakes. The historical relevance might not match last year’s American Pharoah Triple Crown but that does not take away from the significance of this year’s edition. Victories in the Kentucky Derby by Nyquist and the Preakness Stakes, by Exaggerator set up a battle to cement themselves as the leading three-year-old entering the summer campaign. But alas, Nyquist had spiked a fever which had his connections end him back to California to get ready for the summer season and Breeders’ Cup in the fall. With that, Exaggerator will be only one of...

Hall of Fame Jockey Kent Desormeaux has entered an alcohol treatment facility at Cirque Lodge in Sundance, Utah. Desormeaux, the rider of Preakness Stakes and Santa Anita Derby winner Exaggerator, will return to racing on Thursday at Belmont Park in preparation for this Saturday’s Belmont Stakes. Desormeaux released a statement through his agent J.R. Pegram: “It was time to take a sober look at my life and take this step.” The demons that plague Kent Desormeaux have been well known throughout the years. Just last year, Desormeaux was fined $2,500 by the Del Mar track stewards for being under the influence during a racing program....

Not surprisingly the FedEx St Jude Classic will be light on heavy hitters this week as this event is sandwiched between the Memorial Tournament and the US Open. Many of the top players in the world will use this week to rest and prepare for the US Open in two weeks. That does not mean the FedEx St Jude Classic is without star power. In its 28th year of existence, the TPC Southwind will show off its natural lakes, ponds, and rolling countryside as envisioned by its designer Ron Prichard. 2004 brought additional length and green surface changes that will also be on display this week. The 72-hole record for this event belongs to John...

The week’s tour stop is one of the most incredible stops of the year. Welcome to the week of the Memorial Tournament affectionately referred to as “Jack’s Tournament.” Jack Nicklaus is the host and designer of Muirfield Village Golf Club in Dublin Ohio. It is truly an incredible course that is part of a 220 acre complex. An amazing 11 holes on this course are challenged by some level of water and there are also 75 bunkers throughout the 18 holes at Muirfield Village. The Memorial Tournament past winner chart is a who’s who in the history of the PGA Tour which only provides credence to the quality of this event since its...
