Photo Courtesy of Daniel Shirey / USA TODAY SportsDuring the 2013 National Football League regular season, Marshawn Lynch compiled 301 rushing attempts and 36 receptions for a total of 337 touches.  During the playoff run that ended with a Seattle Seahawks win in the Super Bowl over the Denver Broncos, he added 65 more rushing attempts and one more reception to bring his season touch total to 403.  In my fantasy football keeper league, I traded for Lynch early in the month of January.  Immediately after the Super Bowl I put him on the market and he was traded. You may be asking why would I trade away a player I just acquired a little...

Rookies in the National Football League are often over hyped the few months after the draft and leading up to football regular season.  This carries over to fantasy football leagues where they are often ranked higher than they might deserve and drafted sooner than they should be. There are those rookies that perform well and deserve to be in your fantasy football lineup but you have to be careful when drafting them too early and passing on well-established veterans. If I had to choose a few rookies that will impress and have successful debut seasons here are my choices, I will call them my 2014 Fantasy Football Pre-Season All-Rookie...

This July 4th will mark the 75th anniversary of one of the most memorable speeches in baseball history. On July 4, 1939, Lou Gehrig delivered his “The Luckiest Man" speech in front of approximately 62,000 fans, dignitaries, VIP’s, former and current teammates, and stadium staff on “Lou Gehrig Day” at Yankee Stadium. Between double-header games on Independence Day against the Washington Senators, Gehrig was honored on the baseball field with speeches, gifts, commemorative plaques, and trophies. His special day on the diamond came only 15 days after his diagnosis of Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) was released to...

With the conclusion of the 2014 National Football League draft, the football season is fast approaching and many are starting to prepare for their yearly fantasy football drafts.  The owners that have the good luck (or bad luck according to some fantasy owners) of having the first pick in their fantasy leagues will have to make the tough decision on who to select with the pick.  Let’s take a look at the three most obvious choices to be the first player selected in most leagues this year. Adrian Peterson, Running Back, Minnesota Vikings Adrian Peterson is entering his eighth season in the National Football League and is only two...

The San Francisco Giants ended the first full month of the baseball season sitting on top of the National League West division with a 17-11 win-loss record.  The Los Angeles Dodgers are currently trailing the Giants by a game and half.  It is the Giants best start since the 2003 season.  During that season they started 19-7, won 100 games but lost to the eventual World Series Champions, Florida Marlins in the National League Division series. This years' hot start is even better than their starts during their last three World Series appearances when they started 12-10 (2012), 13-9 (2010) and 15-11 (2002).  The Giants have had a steady...
