Generously compared to some of the greatest writers in the history of human life, he hopes. Jared is an avid lover of all things sports, particularly (and often times unfortunately) Cleveland related. Always open to debate and discuss basketball, football, baseball, or anything you may be interested in.

The Oakland Athletics strengthened an already amazing rotation Thursday morning when they shipped Home Run Derby phenom Yoenis Cespedes to Boston for lefty ace Jon Lester and part time outfielder Jonny Gomes. It was the first of several deals by the Red Sox, who went on a mini fire sale in the final hours of the trade deadline. Shortstop Stephen Drew and fellow starting pitcher John Lackey also saw their ways out of Titletown. The 28 year old Cuban born Yoenis Cespedes will be joining the second team of his young career. Known mostly for his back to back Home Run Derby titles and superhuman throws from the outfield, Cespedes sports a...

The Kevin Love Sweepstakes is in full swing and many NBA teams are "Looking for Love." Early Thursday afternoon, the Cleveland Cavaliers announced the signing of the 2014 NBA Draft’s number one pick, Andrew Wiggins. The signing of the first pick is generally a formality during NBA off seasons, but with the swirling trade rumors surrounding Wiggins and All-Star power forward Kevin Love, this is no ordinary news. League standards stipulate that Andrew Wiggins can’t be dealt for 30 days, which may lead some to believe that the Kevin Love deal is now improbable as contenders such as Golden State and Chicago now have time to win over...

In week two of last year’s NFL season, opening day starter Brandon Weeden, one of the best red-headed 30 year old quarterbacks named Brandon to ever don the Cleveland Browns uniform, went down with an injury. Several days later, a decision was made that could very well be causing another quarterback controversy a year later. One and done head coach Rob Chudzinski chose to play Brian Hoyer, the proverbial third string quarterback on the roster, over the expected backup in Jason Campbell. Hoyer went on to turn the quickly 0-2 Browns into a .500 team with surprise wins over the Minnesota Vikings and Cincinnati Bengals. Then, as...

It's barely been a day since the news broke of Cleveland's prodigal son returning to claim his basketball throne. Like Michael Jackson's death or the royal baby's birth, every Cleveland fan will remember where they were when they heard the news. I was putting on my pants for the day when LeBron's now famous Sports Illustrated picture came up on my television screen. Based on his pose, I assumed LeBron was preparing to sell me some nice real estate. Or perhaps looking to give me an estimate on life insurance, being the physical specimen he is. Then the reporter started talking and I had realized my basketball dreams were being fulfilled....

When the initial AL All Star voting poll was released to the press, Cleveland fans and renowned baseball critics alike noticed a large snub in the Outfielders category. That snub goes by the name of Michael Brantley, or as Cleveland knows him, Dr. Smooth. Brantley has been silently tearing up his competition in the batter's box and on the field, and after realizing he didn't make the top ten, voters quickly gathered together (I like to believe in huge crowds in several big arenas around the world) and feverishly voted till they couldn't move. The hard work paid off as Michael prepares for what will likely be the first of many all star...
