The question is if the Eagles feel a free agency score like Demarco Murray, CJ Spiller or Reggie Bush could be possible. Maybe they plan to draft a RB at the back like Gurley to mold. Its interesting at face value without digging.

Read an article about how rare this type of trade is in the NFL, superstar for superstar. From the Eagles standpoint they are saving a ton of money by trading the soon to be 27 year old McCoy and getting Kiko Alonso. This could allow them to sign a free agent RB but who? Murray and Spiller are around McCoy’s age and I don’t see them signing Murray to much cheaper than McCoy was getting paid. Spiller might be able to be signed for cheaper. I actually think there is a good shot Spiller ends up in Philly, unless there is a FA RB that played at Oregon that Chip can bring in. A RB in the draft is a possibility but I still think they trade up to draft Marcus Mariota which would mean they would need to find one in a later round. The Bills want to run the ball, run the ball, and run the ball some more which makes sense since they really don’t have a QB. Maybe McCoy can give them a few more productive seasons.

I could see Philly possibly get a load in the likes of maybe a Bilal Powell, Mark Ingram or Knowshon Moreno then trying to play tandem with them and Sproles… That could possibly work.
From some of the rumors around. McCoy wants no part of this trade. He just might try to flex his “I am not playing” muscle for a while in Buffalo.
I get the age of McCoy but he did have it a bit light in the load the first couple of years
Alonso is coming off a whole season missed due to major ACL surgery so while he is a beast, there are question marks there.
I am still in a bit of shock here but we will see how it plays out.
