Fantasy football season is right around the corner and it is never too soon to gather as much valuable data as possible. Each person, stat or edge that you can find will go a long way in determining who you should draft and how to structure you team in hopes of winning the 2015 championship.
Below is my breakdown of who I believe will be the top fantasy quarterbacks for the 2015 season. You will find a list and a further breakdown of the top-15 quarterbacks in the list.
The breakdown below is based on a PPR league so take that into account with some of the rankings. With that the quarterback receives one point for each 25 yards passing, earns four points for each thrown touchdown, two points for each completed two point conversion, and loses two points for each interception or fumble. Standard rushing and receiving rules apply. Obviously much of this data is transferable to numerous different league configurations but I wanted to ensure clarity up front. Let’s get to it and see how the breakdown begins.
Player To Watch On Draft Day – Eli Manning
All the weapons and skill to stay on top. Guaranteed 4,000+ and 35 TDs and that is a worst case scenario. Oh and he will run for 250+ as well.
Hair behind Rodgers, adds Johnson and Gore. He is special and will chuck it 600 times in 2015. Could be an MVP year.
He is healthy again and with weapons like KB and crew can be expected to top 4,000 yards and rush for 600+. The offense runs through the maturing Newton.
Not your parents Steelers. Ben will throw a bunch and tied for the lead last year just under 5,000 yards. He should continue to step forward.
Each year he gets more freedom. Last year he threw for 3,500+ and ran for 800+. Expect those numbers to improve
Murray is gone so Romo will return to the focal point. He could approach 600 attempts which should yield 4,500 yards and 30 TDs.
All-time great with a bunch of weapons. Is there gas in the tank for the full year? The most risk ever to draft Manning considering his ADP.
Threw for just under 5,000 last year. Graham and Stills are gone but there are still weapons and Brees showed he will spread the wealth.
Excelled once the offense gelled under new coordinator and system. Beckham is a freak, Randle is real, Cruz returns and Vereen is a huge outlet. Expect a career year for Eli.
Johnson is healthy and Tate really stepped up last year. Stafford gets those two and a pass catching RB in Bell as a safety valve. He will get his numbers even if it is just sheer volume.
Roddy White and Julio Jones are great weapons for Ryan who is good for 4,000 and 25 TDs. Kyle Shanahan in to call the shots breeds concern.
The additions of Stills and Cameron are huge plus points for the youngster who topped 4,000 yards for the first time last season. A 4,000 yard and 25+ TD season is right in his sights.
He is still a stud and can produce but if the suspension is upheld he will miss four games at some point in the season. The other 75 percent will be great.
It is a health thing for Palmer. If healthy, he has Fitzgerald, Floyd and a cast to throw to. He could again top 4,000 yards if he goes 16 games.
No running game support and no real receiving corp did not stop the rookie. In 13 games he was just short of 3,000 yards. Wallace in and AP back could be a big step for Bridgewater this year.
