With the third week of the National Football League pre-season games upon us, the start of the regular season is just around the corner. This is the time many fantasy football leagues are preparing for their upcoming drafts. One of the most valuable tools you can have at your league draft is a cheat sheet. If you have the time you should create your own, but for those that do not have the time I am here to share mine with you.
This cheat sheet here was developed based on the following scoring system and league structure:
League Size – 12 teams.
Roster Size – 20 players.
Starting Lineups – 1 QB, 2 RBs, 3 WRs, 1 TE, 1 K, 1 Team Defense/Special Teams.
Basic Scoring System – 6 points for touchdowns, 1 point for every 25 yards passing, 1 point for every 10 yards rushing, 1 point for every 10 yards receiving, 1 point for every reception, 1 point for an extra point, 3 points for a field goal.
Note: The number of players with comments will vary at each position based on value, depth and roster minimums required. As an example, you will see that written analysis for the QB position stopped after number 12 while the RB position goes 24 players deep. Rankings at each position are complete and based on extensive backroom analysis.
If you must have one of the three elite quarterbacks this season, Peyton Manning (pictured above), Drew Brees, or Aaron Rodgers, they are being selected in the late first to middle of the second round generally. If you can wait and let others use a high pick for their quarterback, some nice talent will fall to you. Players like Matthew Stafford, Andrew Luck, Matt Ryan, Cam Newton, Nick Foles, Robert Griffin III, Jay Cutler, and Tony Romo should be available in rounds four through eight or even later.
