In a bold move by EA Sports to rejuvenate the franchise, the gaming giant has decided to ditch the traditional naming convention this year and celebrate 25 years of NFL history. What does this mean? Instead of the traditional cover vote where fans usually cast their ballot for the years current NFL superstars, the new Madden NFL 25 cover vote will consist of current players versus past NFL legends who dominated the game over the last 25 years, ergo the name Madden 25.
The Madden 25 naming convention is a horrible choice by EA, they should have stuck with the formula that helped them make over 3 billion dollars. As far fetched as this may sound, the Madden 25 name will be unusable in about 11 years when it is time for the actual Madden 25 cover. So, what will EA name the Madden NFL year 25 cover when that time actually arrives, Madden 24 or 26 ? I just think EA Sports would have been better off with keeping with the Madden NFL 14 title and simply implementing the legends versus the superstars idea.
According EA Sports The past and the future collide in the newest Madden NFL Cover Vote across ESPN platforms and SportsNation, which will see the old school take on the new school for the historically-significant cover. A bracket of 32 all-time NFL greats will go head-to-head against one another, as will 32 modern NFL superstars, with the winners of each bracket facing off in the final round.
According to EA Sports Voting will begin March 11 on ESPN.com/MaddenVote, and fans can tune into a special edition of SportsNation at 4:00pm EST on ESPN2 for the live unveil of the brackets. Last year, fans cast 20 million votes to name Calvin Johnson, Jr. as the cover athlete of Madden NFL 13 during a special reveal show of SportsNation live from Times Square in New York City.

Instead of putting Colin kapernick or russel Wilson or rg3 as the front cover put somebody that we won’t actually expect to be on the cover
Agreed, However I read around in a few threads where people didn’t like the title.
The fact that it is being called madden 25 is not that bad of an idea. it still says the year 2014 on the cover and possibly they will continue with 26, 27 etc. To me the amount of years is a lot cooler than the year that it is.
Have a compilation of all the.previous winners and madden in the back of them all.
