2013/2014 Super Bowl Predictions

2010 NFL - Raider Nation Celebration - August 27, 2010

Why beat around the bush with all the 2014 NFL Playoffs talk, how about we get right to predicting the last team standing victorious at the end of it all, the team that will hoist the Vince Lombardi trophy. Several writers were asked to look into the future and predict the 2014 Super Bowl champs, here is what they had to say.

Which team will win the 2014 NFL Super Bowl and why?

2014 Super Bowl Winner: Seattle Seahawks

Seahawks

The Seattle Seahawks will win the 2014 Super Bowl. They are the team with the least number of flaws. They play great defense, they can run the ball, and their young QB Russell Wilson has done nothing but win games since entering the NFL. With homefield advantage throughout the playoffs and with the AFC being the inferior conference, Seattle has the easiest path to Super Bowl glory.

2014 Super Bowl Winner: Seattle Seahawks

The Seahawks are a well-rounded team and aren’t one dimensional like most teams in the league. They have a solid offense which is led by second year quarterback Russell Wilson and “Beast Mode” Marshawn Lynch. The defense is one of the best in the game. They are ranked #1 against the pass due to the “Legion of Boom” and #10 against the run. Their special teams unit is easily in the top five and might just be the best in the league. The Seahawks don’t rely on any one unit to win games and that’s why they are currently sitting at 12-2. If Seattle continues playing like they have, there is no reason they won’t win the Super Bowl.

2014 Super Bowl Winner: Seattle Seahawks

Their defense is just too tough and their offense will do just well enough. As they showed against the Giants, they are able to play in the Meadowlands in the cold, so the Super Bowl in February shouldn’t be a problem. Seahawks over the Broncos – 34-17

2014 Super Bowl Winner: Seattle Seahawks

Backing Denver is hard for me with playoff weather in mind, Kansas City is tough to back, and I lack the confidence in the Patriots, 49ers and Saints. Seattle will carry home field to the Super bowl and they are extremely tough to beat at home. Marshawn Lynch is a beast at running the ball, Russell Wilson is an MVP candidate, and they have a serviceable receiving corps while their defense is the best in football. They will be forced into one road game in a stadium they just won at this past weekend. Will it be easy? It never is but I will ride the Seahawks to the title.

JR Williams ( Editor, Sports Unbiased )
2014 Super Bowl Winner: Denver Broncos

Broncos

The 2014 Super Bowl champion will come down to the team with the most experience and behind Peyton Manning I believe the Denver Broncos are the most playoff prepared team in the league. Let’s forget about regular season success, the playoffs are on a different level and we’ve seen hot team take an unexpected exit time and time again. I personally am not caught-up in the Seattle Seahawks hype, while it is true Russel Wilson is playing like the NFL MVP , he still has to prove himself in the post season.

John Yeomans ( Writer, Sports Unbiased )
2014 Super Bowl Winner: San Francisco 49ers

49ers

Call me crazy but I’m sticking with the same team I picked before the season, the San Francisco 49ers. Colin Kaepernick is finally getting back to playing like last season, as he has a quarterback rating of 105, while completing 62.9 percent of his passes in the last four games. A big reason for this is he has all his offensive weapons, especially his favorite target Michael Crabtree, all healthy which hasn’t been the case all season. Also, the defense is once again one of the best in the league with them ranking third in total defense and only allowing 299.1 total yards a game. San Francisco might have to play their arch nemesis the Seahawks in Seattle to make this a reality, however, if there is a team that can win at Century Link it’s the playoff battle tested veterans from the Bay.
