Ridley Me This:
I was asked an interesting question yesterday in the office: who is the most disappointing fantasy player at this point in the season? Well, there are a lot to pick from but I have made my selection for the biggest bust at week 3. Not saying that this player can’t turn it around or you should trade him fast or anything like that.
Nevertheless, Stevan Ridley is my choice at this moment. He was a first round pick in some drafts and a top 10 running back that has yet to get 10 total points combined in three games! Forget being the lead back on any fantasy team, he hasn’t lived up to even being a flex spot on my roster. This is one of those picks that could kill your fantasy team early but not necessarily for the year (waiver wire). Ridley tallied 111 yards in three games combined, while other top running backs like LeSean McCoy did that in almost every game this year. Ridley is also in the dog house for getting less than forty carries this year and not being able to really locate him in the offense. Many also thought he would be a player in the receiving game as well but he has just one reception for eight total yards. The numbers wouldn’t hurt so badly if he could find the end zone at least one time this year but that hasn’t happened yet either. He did lose a fumble already, which takes things from bad to worse.
The part that makes me even more nervous about this player is what happens when more weapons return from injury (Gronkowski, Amendola, Vereen). Will he get more production because of more people to worry about, or will he become more of a shadow? You might want to try to package him up in a deal to get some worth or hold on and hope it changes but either way the bust tag is appropriate for this player.
