When this story first ran many internet sources had their own theory as to why Johnny Manziel left the Manning Camp. Well he didn’t leave, they (Manziel and Manning Camp) “mutually” agreed he should go home. Many websites were stating that Manziel had been out the night prior partying on Bourbon Street til the early hours of the morning. He was late the first day and no showed the second day. No phone call was made to explain his whereabouts and the staff of the Manning Camp had to track him down.
During the SEC media day Manziel stated that he had overslept, his phone was dead and he was tired from traveling. Who are you trying to fool? Manziel’s father claims that his son was suffering from dehydration and was not feeling well. Also informing the media that the rumors of his son drinking on Bourbon Street the night before were completely false.
Now that we are all caught up, how many of you are actually buying what the Manzeil’s are selling you? Even if the rumors were true, how hard is it to show up hungover and hang out with some kids all day long? Are his diva like actions slowly starting to diminish and outshine his talent? Many analyst are starting to think so and they have good reason. This puts his leadership and character into question among NFL Scouts and GM’s. Whether he likes it or not he has to behave in a higher standard than most because he is the Heisman. He is a Top 5 NFL Draft pick. He is the face of this team. However, I do feel like some media outlets are over reacting and putting him through the wringer. It’s unfair but he needs to start seeing the end game. If he doesn’t, he might get passed up come draft time.
The video down below is my opinion on the matter, playing some NCAA Football 14 Road to Glory. I hope you enjoy. Let me know what you think of Manziel’s recent situation in the comment section.
