According to Wavy 10, a local Hampton Roads news station, all negotiations between Comcast-Spectacor and the resort city are at a stand still based on the companies inability to reach a long-term lease agreement with a NBA team (many speculate the team to be the Sacramento Kings). According to Wavy News, Mayor Will Sessoms and Peter Lukko, the president of Comcast-Spectacor, will release a joint statement regarding their on-going negotiations to get the arena deal done. Unfortunately, those negotiations are at a stand-still. The resort area has been in negotiations for years with Comcast-Spectacor. I personally hate to see time, money, and effort go to waste but I continue to be optimistic that the two sides will come to an agreement soon.
