The Cleveland Cavaliers have suspended Andrew Bynum indefinitely for conduct detrimental to the team. Bynum has also been banned from all team activities. Since his return from injury, Bynum has continuously struggled on the court offensively and according to the NBA official site, the Cavs organization grew concerned about his attitude in recent weeks and feared it negatively affect team chemistry. The Cavs choose to remove Bynum rather than see the situation worsen.
Bynum was a major reason behind me picking the Cleveland Cavaliers to make the Eastern Conference playoffs, unfortunately his suspension adds to the long list of bad news that has plagued the Eastern Conference as a whole. From a fan and writer perspective, the east continues to get worse. The 2013-2014 NBA regular season could arguably be remembered as one of the most disappointing seasons in recent history.
At the very least, lets just hope Andrew Bynum can turn things around. I think he could be a good addition to a team in contention for an NBA title (Heat, Spurs, or Clippers). Keep in mind Bynum has two NBA championship rings and perhaps his situation on an up and coming Cavs team didn’t exactly provide enough of a spark for him to compete on a nightly basis. I doubt this will be the last time Bynum will appear in an NBA uniform.
