Here we are with a couple of weeks left in the regular season. The Baltimore Orioles have clinched the AL East and the LA Angels have clinched the AL West. The Tigers and Royals battle it out for the AL Central and a handful of teams battle it out for two AL wildcard spots. Meanwhile in the NL the Washington Nationals have clinched the NL East while the Cardinals, Pirates, Dodgers and Giants battle it out for some combination of the NL Central, NL West, and the wildcard spots with the Brewers still holding on to a glimmer of wildcard hope.
With that it in mind it is also the stretch run for many of Major League Baseball’s top awards. What better time to see who is in the driver’s seat and what players still have an outside shot to capture performance bonuses and awards that cement their 2014 seasons for posterity. Let’s take a look at the AL MVP and NL MVP award races with roughly 10 games left in the 2014 baseball season.
