Welcome to Part 5 of my 2013 MLB forecast. I just finished forecasting the National League East, National League Central and the National League West. Now it is time to move on and I present my 2013 predictions for the American League West.
2012 began with high hopes for both the Texas Rangers and Los Angeles Angels. The Rangers were coming off back-to-back World Series appearances and the Angels had been active in free agency adding the likes of Albert Pujols and C.J. Wilson to what was already considered a formidable team. However, one thing that neither team counted on was the emergence of a young Oakland team that snuck up and took the division crown. Heading into 2013 some wonder if Oakland can continue, if the Angels can become the team the “experts” thought, if Texas can regain form or if the Seattle Mariners can show up the dance and play along. Oh, and welcome to the AL West Houston; good luck.
