Last month, the Inaugural Class of Sports Unbiased’s Baseball Hall of Fame was announced. Players such as Babe Ruth, Walter Johnson, Ted Williams, and the rest of baseball’s immortals were inducted in the inaugural class.
This month, we move on to the second round of voting. If you want to see the “rules” of Sports Unbiased’s Baseball Hall of Fame, please click the link above.
This second ballot had 247 players listed on it (the first ballot had 274), of which 14 players garnered the necessary 75% of the vote for induction and all players received at least one “later” or “yes” vote, so no players were removed from the ballot.
The following people voted on this ballot – from Sports Unbiased there was Rich Stowe, Adam Solowiei, Kimani Gregoire, Sammie Wright, Brian Podoll, Mike Santangelo and Zach Bigalke. We also invited some people that I have either worked with at other sports sites or people I know and respect their baseball knowledge. These people were Matt Strobl, Matt Jolly, and Terry Brennan. I just want to thank everyone who voted – with a ballot this size, it definitely wasn’t easy or quick.
On the following pages you will see who received enough votes for induction and what the vote totals were for the people who didn’t receive induction. We will divide the inductees into the following groups – infielders, outfielders, and finally pitchers and catchers.
At the end, you will find a poll to vote for the biggest snubs from this round of voting – pick who you think should have been inducted in this the 2nd Class of the Sports Unbiased Baseball Hall of Fame. As always, please leave us any comments and let us know how we did, if you agree or disagree with our picks etc.
