Manchester City exacted some measure of revenge against fellow Premier League contenders Chelsea with a comfortable 2-0 victory at Etihad Stadium in the FA Cup fifth round (round of 16).
Earlier this month Jose Mourinho’s men became the first club to defeat City at home in the Premier League with a 1-0 win. Chelsea currently lead the league with 57 points – three ahead of City.
Manchester City ensured that there would be no repeat performance this time, with Stevan Jovetic and Samir Nasir scoring goals in the first and second half respectively.
Manchester City will advance to the FA Cup quarterfinals and remain alive for a club quadruple. They are still in contention for the Premier League, FA Cup, and the Champions League trophies and will play Sunderland in the League Cup final next month.
