The 2013 edition of the Presidents Cup will be the 10thanniversary of the bi-annual event. This year the event will be played at Muirfield Village Golf Club in Dublin-Columbus, Ohio from October 1stuntil the 6th. While many wonder why the Presidents Cup exists in lieu of a Ryder Cup the answer is not too complicated to explain. In the Ryder Cup players from Europe compete against the United States. There was no avenue for the quality players outside of Europe to compete. With that came the Presidents Cup which pits the United States against a team of “world all-stars” in match play style competition.
Since the Presidents Cup inception in 1994 the event has been played on opposite years as the Ryder Cup ensuring quality match play golf is present each and every year. In the past nine installments of the Presidents Cup the United States has won seven times, the International team has one victory and there was a tie in 2003. The 2013 format of the Presidents Cup is as follows.
