I'm an Illinois State graduate and an avid sports fan. I've been following the Bulls and the NBA my whole life. Even though I specialize in basketball I watch pretty much anything sports related.

The NBA trade deadline came and went on Thursday afternoon and as always the trade rumors were more exciting than the actual trades that happened. The most significant deal that took place was the Indiana Pacers trading Danny Granger to the Philadelphia 76ers for Evan Turner and Lavoy Allen. For the Sixers the deal signifies that they are fully dedicated to rebuilding. They have the second worst record in the league and will be using their high draft pick in this years draft to build around their talented young players Michael Carter Williams and Nerlens Noel. For the Pacers, the deal signifies that they are dedicated to winning a...

LeBron James is tired of being humble. Ever since he was in high school at St. Vincent-St. Mary he's been one of, if not the most, scrutinized athletes of all-time. His high school games were shown on ESPN and he was given the nickname "King James" before he ever stepped foot on an NBA court. Throughout his career he's deflected comparison's to the all-time greats and has gone out of his way to pay respect to his peers. Recent comments that he's made have shown us that with two championships under his belt LeBron is starting to look at his place in NBA history. In an interview with NBA TV analyst Steve Smith, James was asked what four...

On February 9th the Detroit Pistons fired their coach Maurice Cheeks after getting off to a disappointing 21-29 start. This move was a bit surprising to some, but with talent that the Pistons acquired in the off-season they had playoff expectations. The Pistons are currently sitting in ninth place in the mediocre Eastern Conference but their record doesn't match their talent. They added Josh Smith and Brandon Jennings in the off season to a core that includes Andre Drummond and Greg Monroe. On paper, there is no way that this team shouldn't be battling for the fourth or fifth seed in the East. Since the Pistons won the championship in...

When Chris Paul went down with a shoulder injury on January 3rd, many felt like it would be tough for the Clippers to stay afloat in the competitive Western Conference (there's only a four game difference between 4th and 8th place). However, CP3's injury ended up being a blessing in disguise. The Clippers are 11-6 without Paul, and Blake Griffin's game has flourished in his absence. In a Wednesday night loss to the Heat, Griffin exploded for 43 points and 15 rebounds. During the 17 game stretch that Paul has been out, Griffin is averaging 27 points per game. Blake Griffin has improved his game this year in almost every way. He's still...

Is Kevin Love really a franchise player? This is a question that many fans have been asking themselves after his recent selection to start in the upcoming NBA All-Star game. He puts up monster stats, but there seems to be a debate as to how good he really is. With rumors that he may be unhappy in Minnesota, organizations around the league are going to have to decide if Love is the kind of player that you can build your team around. Kevin Love has a unique skill set for someone his size. He's a 6'10", 240 pound power forward but can shoot the ball like a guard. He's averaging 24.9 points per game and shooting 38 percent from behind...

Derrick Rose's knee injury has really put the Chicago Bulls in an interesting position. At the beginning of the season many thought that the Bulls were a championship contender. Derrick Rose was returning from an ACL injury, and the rest of the team was healthy and hungry. The Heat had won the NBA championship two years in a row, and Chicago was out for revenge. The Bulls opened the season in Miami facing the defending champions and got blown out. Although the loss hurt and Derrick Rose looked rusty, he still showed some flashes of the player he used to be. About a month passed in the season and Rose's play was improving. Then on a...
